Isaac Oluwatope

Isaac Oluwatope is an Abuja based visual Artist in Nigeria. Born in 1998 in Ondo state, Nigeria.Isaac is an artist whose paintings majors on the duality of everything and how we respond to theraw reality of this truth. With intricate lines, texture and colours, he communicates a rhythm ofmystery, elegance, power and style to attain a psychological fulfillment in his expression. Heexplores the blend of realism and abstract through the famous Araism style movement. Throughhis masterful expressions, he invites viewers to mindfully meditates through his wall of colorsand lines, maybe they will find something they don’t know they are looking for.Isaac had his primary school education at Saint Andrew Anglican school, Ondo, where hewas powerfully influenced by a classmate to start drawing action figures. He also went on tocontinue his secondary school education at Saint Stephen Anglican Grammar School, where hegot involved in many Art activities and competitions. He holds a degree in fine art (majored inpainting) from Obafemi Awolowo university Ile-Ife, Nigeria. in 2018 he had an internshipprogram at the famous Omidiran Art Studio, where he was extensively trained in the art oftexture and was properly introduced to the Araism style of Art. After school, he worked as a FineArt teacher for about a year at focus Academy, abuja. He has since then focused on his practiceas a full-time studio artist.Over the last years, his works have been featured across different exhibitions and mostimportantly he had a solo exhibition in 2022 themed ‘ESSENCE’. He has overtime successfullyexecute commissions across continent, satisfying people’s needs and imaginations. In 2024, hewas named among the top fifteen finalists for Kuenyehia Prize for Contemporary ArtIsaac’s works are largely figurative and surreal projections, featuring simple and solo subjectsgearing towards some dose of abstraction. His intention is to get absolute fulfilment from hisworks by how he combines elements of art and ignoring some major principles guarding it
