Windsor Gallery presents Hybrid, a solo exhibition featuring the work of multidisciplinary artist Kadarik.
This exhibition attempts to probe the processes of evolution, of narration in today’s societies. Kadarik draws his inspiration from his surroundings and explores the conditions we live in and operate. Using abstraction, he offers a visual commentary on our environment that apprehends both through social interaction and nature.
Commenting on the accelerated growth he observes in fast developing cities such as Abidjan, he finds visual interest in chaos and disparity. He highlights the gap between the apparent surface development to the decline in underground wealth.
Those themes unravel as he layers multiple materials onto the canvas. In this series, the artist unveils hybrid artworks at the crossroad of painting and sculpture. With a blowtorch, he distorts the plastic medium, transforming this common industrial material into soft, organic, aesthetically pleasing shapes.
