The collection explores the human experience through two interwoven series, both using wood as a grounding medium to connect past and present, tradition and modernity. In the Beneath Skin Series, eight distinct pieces trace a journey through life’s trials and introspections—loneliness, vanity, sloth, lust, and responsibility—culminating in an ultimate expression of love and connection.
Complementing these works is the Organising Principle Series, a series of six wooden sculptures taking inspiration from the symbolic power of African masks, each one personifying a societal role. These sculptures honour diverse facets of society and evoke
the interconnectedness of individual identity within collective structures. Through a fusion of narrative-driven artwork and sculptural embodiment, the art pieces invites the viewer to reflect on personal and societal roles, evoking questions of identity, purpose, and shared humanity.
